The National Museum of Tanzania 3 Dec 2021 - 1 Feb 2022 The National Museum of Tanzania in Dar es Salaam is organizing an exhibition of Todd Webb's photographs of the African continent to open December 9, 2021 (Tanzanian Independence Day). The exhibition will provide an overview of Webb's United Nations commission in eight different countries with a special focus on 62 years of development in Tanzania, showing Webb's 1958 images of specific sites juxtaposed with contemporary images by a Tanzanian photographer. Minneapolis Institute of Art 6 Jan - 15 Jun 2021 This exhibition presents a recently recovered photographic series taken by American documentary photographer Todd Webb in 1958. Commissioned by the United Nations to document emerging industries and technologies in Ghana, Kenya, Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia), Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), Somalia, Sudan, Togo, and Tanganyika and Zanzibar (both now Tanzania), these early color photographs went largely unused by the U.N.’s publications.
